Last September we launched the most intuitive and powerful version of Xibo to date, Xibo v4. Since then, our team have been working through many of the valuable pieces of feedback provided by our community and we’re excited to share a glimpse into the changes that will be coming in the next few months with the release of Xibo v4.1.
However, I have a question regarding display management – whether it is handled in this future release. To allow someone to add new displays, we can add them as a user and assign them the “Display Manager” role. This allows them to create displays, but we’ve encountered an issue: newly added displays are automatically placed in the Root Folder, which they cannot access. Even if we set a different default folder, new displays still end up in the Root Folder. This requires us to manually move the displays so the user can manage them, such as renaming them.
Is there a better solution to ensure the user has access to the displays they create? The only workaround I can think of is granting admin rights, but that’s not an ideal solution.
Is this special case taken care of in the new version? When it comes to managing 10+ displays, it has quite some sense.
