Xibo for Android not updating to 1.8-104

Currently my Android clients are running version 1.8-102. I uploaded the new .apk file for the version 1.8-104 to the CMS and assigned it to the displays via the Version Information dialog. The .apk file is uploaded to the Android client all right, I can verify that via Assign Files and the Manage dialog.

But after that, nothing happens. The clients remain at version 1.8-102 which I can see in the version column in the Displays view.

Are there further steps to take or possibilities to troubleshoot?

You need to ensure your devices are rooted and configured to allow remote upgrade per the instructions in the setup guide.

Once you’ve done that, they should be able to upgrade. The first place to look is at the bottom of the status screen. It will show you there what it thinks the upgrade status is.

Granting root to the Xibo app did the trick.
