Xibo 3.0.0-rc1 can't create new layout using a template

Issue

Xibo cms 3.0.0-rc1 fresh install.

When I create a new layout using a template I get an error:
‘[] operator not supported for strings’

It doesn’t matter whether I use a new created template or an imported template.
