I agree,
It could be tested just to see if it works.
I am using this Windows 10 loT Enterprise 2015 LTSB (ESD) in several regular players including the Compute Sticks and very happy with the functionality.
My understanding is that IoT Enterprise requires an x86 CPU. The RPi will get IoT Core I think. The two arenât really the same OS at all.
You are absolutely correct Alex.
Oh wow, a few people have jumped the gun here.
You are right Alex, Iâve got a collection of R-Piâs and Iâve used them for a lot of things both at work and at home. Windows 10 IoT is an Arm-based version of Windows, not x86. Whatâs more itâs quite stripped down, so not only would you need Xibo Player compiling for Arm to run, youâd need to be sure there are enough parts of system left (APIâs, libraries and the like) for it to run in the hypothetical situation it could ported to Windows on Arm.
We considered R-Pi for our displays (using Linux), but in the end the work required wasnât worth it when we considered the cost of something like a Compute Stick or a NUC/Brix.
L8r.
Hi Alex! Is Ubuntu OS still supported for Xibo Client?
No it isnât.
So we canât use it anymore?
Itâs no longer developed or supported. You can use it if you wish, but we donât offer any support for it, and it wonât work with a modern CMS. If youâre deploying a new setup, please consider using something supported!
Hello, any updates on this?
I have rpi3 and I need somehow to run xibo client to arm arch.
