What do you think about DS-100 (with Linux)?

Hi,

I like to know if anyone has previously used DS-100 ( ARM-based DS player from advantech) with Linux platform? Are there any incompatibilities or issues with Xibo? Thanks in advance for your support.

CPU: Dual-core Arm Cortex-A72 processor + Quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor
Memory: 2GB Memory on board
Storage: 16GB eMMC on board
GPU: Quad-core Arm Mali-T860MP4
Graphic Engine: OpenGL ES1.1/2.0/3.0, OpenCL1.2, DirectX11.1

Xibo for Linux is not built for ARM so it won’t work on that device.

Hi, Thanks you for your response. If that is the case, can you please let us know what hardware requirements we should check for (for Linux)?

I can’t no. Whist the Player is in heavy development it’s not possible for us to give a specific spec that will be good for all use cases.

You’ll need to try it for your specific use case and work from there. I’d suggest avoiding Celeron/Atom based machines (the sticks etc) and go for a reasonable spec NUC or mid range PC. It must be 64 bit and it must be Intel architecture (ie not ARM, RISC etc). I’d recommend minimum 4GB RAM.

Thank you for your response.
