Weird waveform signal displaying on Windows player

I’m getting this animated waveform signal on my display. What could possibly be causing this?

Hi,

When we see this, it means the Windows Media Player process has crashed out and is unable to decode the video (the wave form is the audio track).

We’ve never been able to solve this issue, it is unfortunately just dead (and we can’t tell). Luckily it seems to be quite rare and hardware dependent. Sometimes the issue is solved by updated graphics drivers though, so that might be worth a try?

We’re hoping the newer WPF player will solve this (R252) and if you’re able to try that it would be really interesting to see if you still get that problem.
