Users See Private Folder

Issue

I created a new user added them to the “Content Manager User Group”.
I created a folder “Company Name” off the “Root Folder”.
I “Set Home Folder” for new user to the “Company Name” folder.

When I login as the new user I see:
Root Folder
Company Name
Private Folder
Private Folder

What are the 2 Private Folder’s, why are they there and how do I get rid of them?

Thank you,
John

Those folder marked private folder are permissions that the user cannot access. We have almost 200 folders under root , so it looks really strange for users that don’t have all folder access, it should be just omitted from view

Thanks for the update.

I’ve done some testing and it looks like when a folder is created within a Sub folder it will show up under a different user as a Private Folder.

Root Folder
Company 1
Company 2
Company 3
Company 3 Sub
Company 4
Company 4 Sub

If I login as Company 1 or 2 I’ll see 2 Private Folders. If I login as Company 3 or 4 I’ll see 1 Private Folder.

If Company 1 created a Sub Folder then Company 2 would see 3 Private Folders and Company 1, 3 and 4 would see 2 Private Folders.

Thank you,
John
