Look at these german thread on the german Raspberry pi forum.

Hello, I’m new here. I use xibo 1.6 client on windows in a high school and it works great. However, those mini PC start getting more hardware problems. I would like to replace them and checking if Raspberry Pi is a viable solution.

I read some posts on raspberry pi in the community and know that Pi2 may not be powerful enough.

As Raspberry Pi 3 (https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-3-model-b/) is now available, I would like to know if anyone has successful experience on using Pi 3.

Please, I News tour help

@ricardogil I need your help. Please, what your contact?

Hi,
I dont have any experience running it on Pi3, but what I know is that running with some android hardware seems to be much better in all scenarios. If you could have it and afford some Xibo licenses that would be good.

Xibo on Python is not 100% reliable, I never get it working without any issues for long period of time.

Hey Allopes… which help do you need?

Eu preciso de ajuda com o xibo no raspberry

Hello Ricardo, It’s very nice of you to start this topic and your elaborations are pretty good. I just wanted to ask if there’s any way you could help me out by uploading your version of the raspberry pi image. Please it’s very important. Thanks.

Hello!

I’m studying software engineeringand and I’m trying to install Xibo client in a raspberry pi 3 b which has an android image (exactly this one: https://mega.nz/#!sU9ECBbC!dH1ww_oxrrfAKT2qnrwE8wUO85CSpRnViW1xhbSEans). I thought that doing this, I would be able to download from the browser of this android image the signage player for android, but my idea doesn’t work.
Could you tell me the reason of it please? and what can I do to install a xibo client in my raspberry pi 3 b?

I would appreciate it very much, because it’s my work and I want to do it with xibo.

Thank you, I am waiting for your answer.

@silviad Please indicate what you tried and what doesn’t work (which steps). As far as I know, any Android should work although your RPi probably doesn’t have the horsepower for smooth playback.

First I have written the SD of the Raspberry pi 3 b with this image https://mega.nz/#!sU9ECBbC!dH1ww_oxrrfAKT2qnrwE8wUO85CSpRnViW1xhbSEans. This image is android 7.1 for tablet. Then I try to download for http://springsignage.com/download/ the Xibo for Android 1.8 R102, but when I click on the link it doesn’t download anything.

I have solved my problem downloading the apk in a pendrive an puting the pendrive in my Raspberry. Now it’s work well!
Thank you for your atention.
