Self Hosted CMS Hardware Requirements

Evening All,

does any one have any information on what a decent environment for a self hosted CMS looks like, im more talking Processors required, RAM and Disk requirements

Planning a self hosted installed with docker but wondered what minimum specs looked like

Alan

At the moment I am running this on a DELL shared server in the cloud (vSphere) with:
Dual CPU Intel Xeon Gold 6154, plenty RAM and Disksize.

VM spec on the Xibo self hosted server
8 CPU (4cores per socket)
16 GB RAM
1 TB disksize.

Around 210 displays connected with 1 interactive display. Note, interactive displays are asking more resources of your server. We had some performance issues, but Xibo was able to solve this.

I am sure with my given specs i can go up to 400 displays.

Performance chart for 1 week now. We have an automated video services running which changes 5 clips every 15 min. Because of the latest news. Also more things on this server for better overview of displays and easy command center(page) (yes, only to send commands) to the displays if our engineers are at a location.

Depends on number of screens connected and content volume (images, videos).

For something simple, I usually ask:

8-core CPU
RAM: 8Gb
Storage: 60Gb

With these specifications, I can connect 50 screens without any problem.
Don’t forget that the Docker daemon takes up a lot of these specs.
