Version 1.7.3 seemed to come out very quickly after the 1.7.2 release. Before I take down a production system and perform the update, will there be a 1.7.4 in another couple of weeks?
What determines the release schedule? I’m trying to avoid updates every other week.

Once a release is “stable” eg 1.7.0 then releases come out only when there are significant issues to be fixed.
1.7.3 was released because an issue was identified in 1.7.2 which meant that by default Players would never download new content if the admin defined a Display Profile for that Player (or there was a default in place). That was too serious an issue to be left in the wild for a long period.
You should be able to update the CMS with no impact to your Players.

None of those - at least outwardly to me - seem serious enough to force a release in the next few days, but there will likely be one in the coming weeks to clear up those issues. If they don’t effect you then there’s no obligation for you to upgrade at all.
