Issue

Trying to set up a static youtube link for live events was not working. For our company Youtube channel, OurCompany, we wanted to add live streams for conferences, events, sports, etc that we are producing or performing for interest to our community. To do this we have a channel set up
https://www.youtube.com/c/OurCompany/live

This link redirect to any single live event being broadcast but was not working for us on the Xibo system. Using the following steps we were able to get this event live and broadcasting.

In short this allows a Signboard to play from a “Live” YouTube stream without having to change the code for each unique video. The following code would go into an “embed” field that you create on a layout of your choosing.

Channel id would come from the following page and would be a long mixture of letters and numbers and possibly symbols:
https://www.youtube.com/account_advanced

Once set up we have to schedule the new layout at the times that the event is broadcast and we are good to go.

This is a unique case but may help some schools, churches and other venues that have this problem.
