I have a use case that I would appreciate insight on if it is possible in Xibo. I have a site with 10 different displays in 4 different display groups . Each of the display group is playing a different layout.
On a periodic basis (e.g. every 30 mins), I’d like to implement a “takeover” event where a specific media file is synchronized to playback across all displays. Afterwards, the layouts would resume playback.
If this isn’t possible, I’ll add as a feature request.
Update - Almost working…
I created 2 layouts with different content and scheduled them on 2 different android players (4.0.6). I then created a 3rd layout with one video and scheduled a synch event that mirrored to the sync group that contained these 2 players/displays. Dayparting was set to always and plays per hour at 12.
Result - at the end of the playback for the layout/playlist for the lead display, the sync event is mirrored to both devices. This repeats for the first 12 loops during an hour then the sync event stops.
Desired result - the sync event would be scheduled approximately every 5 mins during the hour instead of after each loop of the layout/playlist event for the lead display.
