PDF builds up very slowly

Hi,

my XIBO android player loads pdf files very slowly. It takes about five seconds to display the whole pdf correctly:

This isn’t quite the result we were hoping to get as we upgraded from version 1.7.4 to 1.8.2 to get pdf support.

I tried to simulate this problem on my computer with genymotion and android 5.1, but this setup loads the pdf way more quickly:

Do you know how we could fix the problem on our devices?
The pdf file is attached below.

Android Device: MINIX NEO U1 running Android 5.1.1 (http://minix.com.hk/en/products/neo-u1)
XIBO Android Version:1.8_R102
CMS Version: 1.8.2

Thank you for your report and attached .pdf.

I did a quick test on DSCS9 now, it loads here about the same as on your test

‘on my computer with genymotion and android 5.1’

As for U1, I haven’t tested this device, is there perhaps newer firmware available from minix for it?
Certainly that loading take too much time on this device.

hi, I’m also having that slow loading issue–and between PDF media items, the screen goes black, then white and THEN starts the staggered/slow download as shown above. I’m working on an Android player, but any more technical specifics, I’ll have to ask my IT team.
