That is correct, Windows players do not support overlapping Regions.

We are currently working on updates to the existing Windows player but it will have the same limitations so will therefore not support overlapping regions, however our Linux Player does support overlapping.

Xibo for Windows uses Windows Media Player to play videos. Unfortunately Windows Media Player doesn’t support overlapping.

There are some tricks to do it.

Display a layout within another layout?

As Natasha said: If a Layout is scheduled as an Overlay, it will sit on top of all your scheduled content. But, you not will schedule a Layout whit a region in Full Size, you must to schedule an Layout whit a region with custom size. See the pictures [jon0] [jon2] [jon1]

I wanted to know if the linux version is stable as windows for production ?

The best versions are the paid ones, like Android or WebOS. If you have any problem you can open a support ticket.
