MP4 missing as allowed file format in Video Module

After using Xibo for a couple of years displaying PowerPoint files I’d like to start converting the slideshows to video, as recommended in several places here and elsewhere, rather than natively displaying ppt(x) in Xibo.

Using Office 2013, converting to video means MP4 format, and it is mentioned in several locations that MP4 should play natively in Xibo. However, in my installation of Xibo 1.7.3, MP4 is not an allowed file format in the upload form for the video module.

Is there some setting that needs to be changed to allow MP4 files to be uploaded to the Video Module?

Thanks!

Maybe some conversion parameter cause that issue. For all my conversions i use wmv. Have you try it?

abubb,

In CMS interface, go to Administration -> Modules.

Search for “Video” name module, click Edit.

Insert the mp4 extension and save.

Done.

Got it. Thank you! I had already converted the existing to WMV to get it to work, but this will save an instructional step for other users.

MP4 is there by default on new installs for some time now. If you’ve upgraded from an older version then you’d need to add MP4 to the list of extensions manually (as @mamoraes correctly says).
