I can t seem to play a small .mp4 on Xibo android. Getting the “unsupported” error in the status window.
(279.mp4) Unsupported Video. What=1. Extra=-33554485.
File is mp4 H264.
I have changed storage to external (there were no further options to pick location).
Any guidance would be appreciated.
What device is it please? (mark, model, android version).
If it is indeed H264 encoded .mp4 video then I’d expect it to play just fine on most if not all android devices, as that’s the most android friendly format/encoding.
You could try R106 and perhaps
Display Settings -> Edit display profile -> Troubleshooting tab
at least temporarily remove blacklist videos
you can also try disabling Use Surface view... it will then use different rendering (textureView), which is generally better for video playback, but it isn’t supported on all devices, therefore it’s not the default option in the display profile.
I’m using DSDevice (DSCS9), Android 6.0.1.

File was created in Adobe Premiere (trial version) and encoded there.
I’m not sure what is meant by R106? Could you clarify.
I will attempt surface view and remove blacklist temporarily.
Used handbrake to re encode the file and now its working. Thanks.
Xibo for Android 1.8R106, you’re currently using R104 (from your screenshot)
Perhaps there was an issue with encoding then, I’m glad you were able to fix that.
