It's 2025. Don't tell me that a Raspberry PI 5 isn't powerful enough

The pinned post about RPi is from 2016, and a lot has changed.

Can anyone confirm that they’re successfully using a RPi 5 with Xibo?

I’ve got a RPi 4 working with an android OS + XIBO. It can only run 1 region at a time, but it’s good enough for what we need. I’ve never managed to get XIBO LINUX working reliably on any device.

The new Windows / Linux player will run on Electron, and it may well be possible to get that working on a RPi, it’s certainly more likely than the current Linux player in any case. I have a hard time seeing us “recommend” it though, although we would update the pinned topic once the new player is available (should community testing of it on RPi go well).

So is there a prospect of a more reliable Linux Player? @dan

Yes, there is more info here: Linux player status and plans - #7 by dan
