Https community.xibo.org.uk

Notice today that when opening the community site Chrome has a red X over the HTTPS connection. Says the site uses a weak security configuration (SHA-1 signatures) so your connection may not be private.

Not that anything here should be all that important. But interesting anyways.

That is rather odd - I don’t seem to have that here.

@alex - anything to worry about?

Chrome shows it as SHA256 (correctly) when I access it from here.

Could it be you have a proxy server there doing HTTPS introspection or something like that @cslaughter?

No proxy on my side. The machine that showed this was a Ubuntu 14.04 machine.

I did log in from another machine and it did show normal. So obviously something with that particular machine. I will reinstall Chrome and see if that makes a difference.

The screenshot was from a 14.04 box as it happens! So either you have a newer Chrome version than me or its something to do with Ubuntu root certificates package. Might be worth checking ca-certificates package is up to date too

Interestingly enough, I connected today on the same machine, machine was not restarted - nor the browser, and everything is normal.
