Hardware Key Character Limit

We have an issue regarding to hardware key code.
As we know that hardware can easly change manually from CMS or from the device,
but we have some condition when put hardware key over than 50 char, the hardware key had been truncate.

so how many char for hardware key can be put?
is there way to put over than 50 char ?
coz we need the hardware key to identified each player more unique with our standar code

Xibo has a 40 character limit for hardware keys, which cannot be increased. 40 characters is still a very long string and will allow you to use a method that will still uniquely identify each player. If your current hardware key naming convention does not fit within 40 characters, you will need to modify your method so that a maximum number of 40 characters are used.
