I am on Xibo 4.0.6 CMS and I have created a sync group of 3 displays. There is a slight glitch in the playback of the layouts which causing the feature of sync group to be useless in such case. What would the problem be?
I am using TX3 android players (4GB + 32 GB) and using Xibo 4.0.3. A video that shows the problem is in the link below.
I don’t know if I am stating the obvious here, but they’re on a wired network?. Wireless the TCP lag is too much and you get results like you’re seeing. I usually schedule all the media items that are going to be sync’d in separate layouts, and i’ve not encountered the lag per display before. I also set the players onto their own vlan on the switch so that there is only the traffic between them and the cms.
You have to first make a sync group, pick your master, then add the other displays.
For arguments sake, we’re doing a 8 screen video wall, 2 x 4. Using 8 android players
Get your videos chopped up accordingly and upload into the system.
Then create layouts for every display,
You have layouts named 1,2,3,4 etc.
Add a playlist to your layouts and put your video in the playlist. On the media items in that playlist you can set the synchronization key for each slot. 5 different wall videos, 5 different keys.
Do a sync schedule and choose the layout for each display ,1,2,3,4 etc.
Wait for it to download and voila
Every time the master has a new media item pop up, the slaves will play the media item with the matching sync key
