Error uploading media

When uploading media i always get an error when the upload finishes.
SyntaxError: Unexpected token ‘<’, "<!DOCTYPE "… is not valid JSON

Ive changed the php.ini and everything looks fine, but still cant uplaod files

I have installed xibo on a ubuntu server and running fine. but when i tried to upload picture or video file it gives me an error "SyntaxError: Unexpected token ‘<’, "<!DOCTYPE “… is not valid JSON”. kindly advice for fix it.
