Does this work any better on a Server vs Workstation OS?

I’m spinning up a new VM to test out Xibo and am just wondering if this works better on a Workstation type OS (Win8.1) or a Server type OS (2012 R2) or if it doesn’t matter.

Thanks.

We have tested Xibo server (CMS) even on WampServer and it worked fine.

So it doesn’t matter then?
Thanks.

At my location we have the CMS running on Ubuntu server 12.04 64bit and it works great. Other locations in our organization are using a WAMP server and they are seeing slower web user interface interaction (it’s slow enough that when shown the installation on the Ubuntu server that’s the first thing noticed). In short, our experience is that it runs better on a Linux server.

The client however we have only used Windows 7 64 bit enterprise.

Ofcourse it works better on Linux than on WAMP and I suggest that solution for the production server. I thought he wanted to test the software (get to know the features and to learn how to use Xibo) not the speed or uptime…

This is for both. I need to test it out to see how it works but then that system could just become our production machine. We are a Windows shop so it will either go on server 2012 R2 or Windows 8.1 and I just didn’t know if it mattered between those two for any reason.

Since it doesn’t seem that it does, I’ll put it on 2012 R2 and see what we get next week.

Thanks.
