Do large video files affect bandwidth?

Qu: I have large sized video files, will this consume my bandwidth by repeatedly downloading each time it needs to be shown?

Answer: Xibo will only download the video file once and then cache it on the Player, therefore this type of file should not affect bandwidth.

It should be noted that in certain circumstances, such as a poor internet connection or a corrupted file, the download may need to try again which could cause further bandwidth to be used. If you see that a video file has used more bandwidth than expected or if the video file appears to have downloaded more than once, this could suggest an issue and therefore warrants further investigation.

To view this information, click on Manage Display from the row menu for the Display and scroll down to the Media section.

If the Downloaded value is higher than the Size this would suggest that there have been multiple download attempts which could highlight an issue.
