Hello,
our company has been having a little bit of trouble with our android xibo clients. For new years eve we had an eventplanned , where we wanted to play different media over the evening, including a countdown to midnight for everyone to celebrate. I created everything including a countdown which I did over a layout and a countdown widget which worked quite good. After that I created the correct schedule for all of the displays.
During the evening the displays seemed to have trouble downloading the media we planned, I already checked for the video being supported.
I just tested the whole thing on just one display again. The countdown in the campaign worked fine but the video we had planned to show did not properly download. In the manage tab in the display it showed it downloaded the full size of the media, but somehow did not “complete” it. As the time for the displays to actually show the media arrived, it just started downloading the media again as the downloaded size grew to double of the actual size, but still not “completing” the download and thus not showing it.
This happened once more until the scheduled test time was over and it started showing the standard layout again.
The display is also shown in the displays tab as red and shows that it is still downloading something, which probably is because he still has “open” media to download.
The video ist 500 MB in size and our internet is quite stable so that should not be a problem, but the behaviour I am seeing is making me believe that is the reason.
Maybe anyone can help me with this problem and point me in a direction what I might have to adjust to stop this happening for our displays.
Much thanks
Clemens
