Display Code Button missing and CMS Address does not work

Hello comunity,

we have a Amazon Fire TV Stick with the XIBO App installed and we looked up this tutorial: Installation Guide on how to set it up with our CMS but we do not have the “Add Display(Code)” Button on the top right of the Displays Page. When we manually try to connect the XIBO App with the CMS it always fails on the CMS address.

I tried using http / https. I also used all paths I am aware of but nothing works. The CMS is installed in /html/xibo-cms-2.0.3 . What can I do?

You’d need to enter the URL for your server, not its install directory.

So for example https://server.example.org where that’s what you put in to your web browser to access the CMS.

If you don’t have the use code button then you’re probably running an old version of the app. You should consider upgrading it.

Thank you for your help, that actually worked. Now I had to authorise it which also worked and I assigned a Layout to it but when I click manage it is not downloading even though I started Schedule Now and checked the “always” checkbox.

What am I missing?

Did you do a Docker based install of the CMS or a custom one?

I don’t think it’s docker based. It must be a custom one.

There’s too many variables then as to why the Player might not be able to download for me to give a quick answer. I’d suggest looking at the Player logs to see if anything is being logged in that regard and start your search from there.

I checked the status inside the app. It’s un-licensed.

It tells me to check the e-mail pool but I am not sure where to go to license it. We had a old Display which was licensed but we had to remove it. Can I use it’s license and if yes - how?

You’d be best contacting the help desk for assistance with Player licensing. You can open a ticket here: https://support.xibosignage.com/open.php

The Support-Team helped me solve it, but I have to thank you too.

Kind Regards
