Creating Ticker Templates using “Override Template”

Greetings House!

I had to revive this topic from 2015…

I am not seeing the function in the latest XIBO, where i can override the RSS template to insert feed image. please what i am missing?

I am still stuck on Xibo v3.3.12 because I rely on RSS ticker and the ability to override using the WYSWYG editor

This functionality has been replaced with Elements, which do the same thing. Have you tried using the new feature? Are there limitations for your use case?

greetings Mr Daniel, happy new year. I honestly, have not played with any of the vsersions above v3.3.12. I tried them a little and when i didnt see that editor, i run back to 3.3.12. I also noticed an issue with the newer xibo versions and MySQL8xx…few days ago, i decided to check in and try new versions and went straight ahead with v4.4.0 and knowing it works with MySQL8.4, i tried it and had no success. but i remembered that bug as i experienced the same mysql8 with xibo v4xx in the past, i tried with MySQL5.7 and it worked fine.

i am not sure if anyone had such bad luck trying to kick start xibo 4xx docker with MySQL8xx. my current production xibo is v3.3.12. using an external MySQL aka remote_mySQL. i always hope there would be an v3.3.14 or upper but i guess it ended at 3.3.12.

I will comb through xibo4.4.0 for the RSS ticker editor to learn how to get the same effect of the WYSWYG editor and i bet i will be the happiest man alive.
