Hi - I am exploring Xibo with DSDevice Android player (DSCS9), and I would like to know if the player is able to cache content, especially large size videos. My player will be linked to a SIM powered WiFi, hence bandwidth will be a constraint. However, the video will not change too often, so the video file being downloaded once and replayed in loop is the behaviour I am looking for. Would appreciate your comments. TIA!
Thank you for your message. When a layout containing a Video Widget is scheduled to a Display, the video file is also downloaded onto the device so it can be played back locally. This means that any time the Layout plays the video inside the Layout it is doing so from the Local Library on the device.
