Can't connect client(display) to server

I’ve successfully installed the server and can log into the admin portal.

However I cannot connect a display (client to the server).

I receive the following error message:
Client found response content type of ‘text/html’, but expected ‘text/xml’.
The request failed with an empty response.

This is a Windows 8.1 client attempting to connect to a Ubuntu server running Xibo

Usually it’s because the URL you’ve entered isn’t the correct one.

It should be something like

http://my.server.com/path/to/xibo

It’s basically the same URL you would use to log in to the CMS Admin interface.
