Would it be possible to include in the Android App the sending of the Player Serial Number to the CMS, could this information be displayed on the GRID of Players?
The MAC address gets displayed. You could map a MAC address to Serial Number in a database (I use Google Docs) and with a bit more twiddling, you could even integrate this into Xibo (I don’t but it’s possible).
I personally use an MDM to do all the ‘low-level player management’ and together with VPN and Xibo this makes for a powerful management system.
