Hi Xibo Crew,
I think it would be nice to have a virtual player.in browser
It could be used in a scheduled loop to see what happening in the browser instead of staying and waiting in front of the screens.
Thanks.
Fred
Could you elaborate on what you mean by virtual player in the browser? How would this go beyond the functionality of having the layout already set up for playback in the browser or getting screenshots?
I’ve configured each player to establish a tunnel and connect to a VNC server, making it easy for me to view the screen and perform remote management tasks. Does this sound like what you had in mind?
Hi Schweminska,
So do I with my windows players and VNC.
By Virtual Player I mean a virtual display that you can be used when you schedule something to see what happends with a remote acces featuring in a browser.
I’m not sure I’m clear
Do you mean a web player? It acts just like a normal player except its just a browser tab?
Hi Dan,
yes, that’s it, this virtual screen could be used in events and accessible remotely via the internet browser. This would allow you to see what is happening in the events and avoid waiting in front of a screen for the end of the loop.
Ah so I think you mean live viewing of the screen output? I.e. like VNC but without the remote control element?
Hi Dan,
Right !
We could set it up as Landscape, Portrait, different Sizes to test and view (remote).
Thanks
Fred
+1 for this feature request.

considering if it was an evolution of screenshot through XMR.
Instead of a screenshot, you can view it in real time as if it were remote access (VNC), but without controlling the device
On the contrary, if what you are asking for is not remote access to view the player’s screen outputs, the new preview already delivers that, right @frederic_Horcholle ?
Yeah so there are a couple of things here I think.
Adding a virtual display for previewing different resolutions, etc. The new previewer in 4.1 is much more capable and should cover off this requirement.
Live viewing what’s happening on the screen. We are exploring how we can do this with various hardware OEMs. We would not consider a feature which gives remote control, but we would/are considering remote viewing (faster screenshots, WebRTC, or something).
Do like you can create a display that is not assigned to an actual piece of hardware? Test your layouts or what have you on that and view it via web browser?
Currently what I do is make a display group and target that with the schedules, layouts etc then as the displays get installed just add them to the group . It would be great to be able to see (according to the schedule anyway) what any given display should be showing.
