Xibo Player Linux performance issue

Hi,

I am testing Linux player under Ubuntu 18.04 on a low end mini PC and i am facing some video lag.
I am currently using Xibo Windows player on the same machines and everything runs smoothly

I have installed Mesa drivers for VA-API use but does Xibo Player Linux uses video hardware acceleration under Linux ?

My mini PC is a ZOTAC CA320 Nano with AMD APU

thanks a lot

Had same pbs with Intel Sticks.
Partially resolved by installing kernel 5.0.

On my NUC, video plays fine until the RAM is full ( it has 3Gb ) and then everything freeze. I guess the SWAP kicks in, and the slow hardrive cannot keep up. And same here, with the window player, this machine works fine.
I guess there is a memory leak in there. Do you also have the “RAM goes full” problem ?
Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.
No on my miniPC the lag is showing as soon as it starts playing.
Didn’t let it play very long though, so no idea about the possible memory leak / freeze but i will try it ASAP

For the record :
AMD A6 quad-core APU
AMD Radeon HD 8250
64G SSD
4G RAM
Ubuntu 18.04.2

thanks

hi all,

any updates on this ?

thanks
