Xibo Android client on Sony Android TV

Hello,

I have successfully installed Xibo Android client on our Sony Bravia FWL-55W805C-T TV and I have some questions if maybe you can help.

  1. How can I configure this TV to start the Xibo Android client every time that TV starts?
  2. I have a problem with video resize in Xibo Android client. Video is in HD, but I have only a smaller area on the display for the video - video doesn’t get resized to that size but it is cut on the right and on the bottom.
  3. What would be the best solution to remotely connect to Sony Android TV? Using an app, Google Services? This TV has a professional/hotel mode, but it doesn’t give me this option?

We have not tested the Android TV platform with Xibo and so do not know how you would set an app to play on startup or remotely connect to the Display. I would recommend contacting Sony for more information or consulting the TV and/or Android TV support manuals.

As Xibo for Android has not been tested, we cannot guarantee performance. If the layout is not playing back as you have designed in the Layout Editor on your CMS, this could be due to how Android TV renders the Layout. If you are unable to resolve the issue, you may need to consider an alternative hardware solution. I have included a link below to our recommended Android Hardware Guide:

I have upgraded Android on TV and it Works.

Now sometimes I get a black screen, if I check the log I see a lot of these records:

If I search for a 307931.mp4 I can find it. Maybe a codec problem?

The first error you are receiving is stating that the layout is invalid. I would recommend checking the Layout to make sure there are no empty regions that may be generating this error.

If the video is not able to be displayed, it could be due to the Codec as you have mentioned. I have attached a copy of our Guide to videos that will not play below, which provides multiple possible solutions to the issue:

You may have to check with the Display manufacturer what codecs are supported on the Display to confirm the best codec to use.

I’m still getting this error: Cannot set the next Layout from the Schedule. Schedule Invalid

This has something to do with Schedule? I have no Schedule, only default layout.
