Windows Player Stuck on Xibo Logo – Layout and Dependencies Never Download

Hi!
We experiencing an issue with the Windows Xibo-player being stuck on the Xibo logo. The player used to work fine a few months ago, but when we switched to a new certificate from our IT-supplier, this issue started to occur.

  • CMS version: 4.2.2

  • Player version: R402.1

  • Players successfully register and communicate with CMS.

  • File Status shows:

    • Layout ID 226

    • Downloaded = 0

    • Dependencies Downloaded = 0

  • requiredFiles.xml contains:

    • Downloading=true

    • Complete=false

  • All newly connected players exhibit the same behavior.

  • Players remain on the Xibo splash/logo screen indefinitely.

Any solutions?

Thank you for your reply Muhammad.
What’s odd is that the Xibo player attempts to load a layout ID that does not exist. I even tried to change the layout ID to an existing one in the XML markup but it still tries to load an unexisting layout.

I will continue to keep in touch with our ceritificate provider.

It may have cached the data from before the SSL certificate change - or it may be nothing to do with the SSL certificate (certificate issues on windows are not common, although its certainly possible). Opening the CMS URL on the PC with the player installed will tell you for sure.

Better yet, open the “Player options” app and try to connect to the CMS that way.
