I’m trying to load a live traffic map from Waze. It loads fine when I’m in the editor but on the display there’s just a blank box. I’ve also confirmed that the server has access to this site.
I don’t think you necessarily need to add it as an iframe in Xibo, it might be better to have it as a webpage widget with open natively option, since it’s already an iframe anyway.
With that being said, I don’t think that URL works in IE, it will not, therefore work in Xibo for Windows either.
It seems fine on Android player though.
You can try to open the URL in IE, inspect element, reload the page and see the error in console it gets.
So it looks like this isn’t going to work? I would have thought since Xibo Player uses Chrome, that it would display since I can get the link to load in Chrome.
Current Xibo for Windows player uses IE - hence why I mentioned that in my previous message.
In 1.7 series we were experimenting with CEF, however that was never working as intended, therefore was dropped in 1.8
The new Windows player that is currently in development will come with several major changes, among them change to the way we render online content, it will use webkit/cef which should prove to be much more reliable than IE.
Found a solution, this site hosts the Google Traffic API for Chicago. They offer a few other cities as well. Though maybe others could use it if they’re facing the billing issues with Google API…
