W10 player not able to connect to remote server

Hi everyone,

We’ve configured our server, worked on our CMS settings and configured a new template to display in our remote displays.

Currently, we have our server machine and the template is properly displayed on that same machine. The issue we face is with additional displays.

We installed Xibo Player on a new machine connected to the displays we want to show the template information, added the CMS Secret Key, but when we test the connection, we constantly get the message “Unable to Connect to Remote Server”.

I’ve gone through a long list of threads and posts in this community discussing the error message, but none of them provide some guidance or resolution.

I’ve created an inbound rule in the server machine to allow the ports 80, 8080, 443 and 9505, but it didn’t make any difference. I’ve disabled the firewall on that same machine, same results. I can’t either reach the CMS Portal or connect the player to the CMS on the new Windows machine. I’ve tried http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:8080/ and http://machine_name:8080/ for the CMS address, same results.

I have the latest Docker/Xibo player versions (4.2.0/3.0.1) on both W10.64 machines (server and player).

Also, I tried to add the new display manually using a code, I captured the new code from the remote player, but it is not recognized by the CMS, it must be because it doesn’t see the remote connection?

Any known issues or steps that you think I might have been missing?

Thanks in advance for any tips!
