Tag Input and Dropdown UI Elements Become Visually Clipped in CMS Filtering Interface

CMS Version

Xibo CMS 4.4.x (Docker deployment)

Player Type

CMS Web Interface / Browser-based CMS usage

Player Version

N/A – issue occurs within the CMS web interface itself

Issue

While using the CMS filtering/search interface, certain UI elements appear visually clipped due to what seems to be insufficient padding or overflow handling.

Specifically, when entering a new tag into the tag/filter input field, the active text becomes partially hidden while typing. The first character of the input appears cut off or clipped during active entry, which affects readability and usability.

Additionally, some dropdown menus within the interface appear visually cut off when expanded, making portions of the menu difficult to view.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to the CMS filtering/search interface

  2. Attempt to add or type a new tag into the tag input field

  3. Observe the active text while typing

  4. View the affected dropdown menus in the same interface area

Expected Behavior

  • The entire text entered into the tag field should remain fully visible while the user types

  • Dropdown menus should display completely without clipping or overflow issues

Actual Behavior

  • The first character of typed text becomes partially hidden/clipped

  • Some dropdown menus appear cut off visually when expanded

Additional Notes

I was able to consistently reproduce this issue during usability testing of the CMS interface. Screenshots are attached below demonstrating the clipping behavior.

There appears to be a dropdown menu that is clickable but the user isn’t able to scroll down to see or reach it.

This is supposed to say β€œapp”, but the β€œa” gets clipped:

Thanks for the feedback. It has been noted and should be improved in a future release of the CMS.
