Shedule Now button, nothing happens

Dear community,

I got an issue that the ‘Shedule Now’ button doesn’t work. More specifically, when assigning a layout to a display, pressing the ‘Save’ button starts the action (the Gear icon starts running) but nothing happens. After 5 minutes I just click the window away.

So up to now I have to restart a player to get the new content started.

Details:

  • Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with Xibo 1.8.9
  • Players are windows and android players
  • Example layout contains 2 movies, a RSS feed and weather module.

Debug log doesn’t indicate a fault (or at least I think it doesn’t)

Any thoughts please?

Could you confirm if that’s docker or manual installation please?

It would seem like it adds the event to the schedule, if after you restart the player the scheduled event comes up, then that would confirm that as well.

Is this a fresh installation or upgrade from previous series?
What browser are you using please?

If you schedule an event via Schedule page ie not schedule now form, is it the same?

Apologies, should have mentioned that;

  • This is a manual, fresh installation so no docker.
  • Browser is as well as Firefox (60.0.1) as Chrome (67.0.3396.87 ) with same behaviour.

Yes, when sheduling via the ‘Shedule Page’ the behaviour is the same. So rotating gear without further action;

The spinning gear usually means that something might be wrong with the php settings.
There were issues with dayparts that also caused similar problems, but that should no longer occur in 1.8.9

Do you have any problems with uploading files to the CMS as well?

If you’d open browser dev console and with it open try to schedule an event, does that show any errors there?

Is that CMS available over the internet so I could have a quick look?
If it is, please share the details with me via private message.

Hi Peter,

To answer your questions:

  • CMS uploading works fine, don’t expirience any issues there.
  • When opening the DEV console and initiating the action following becomes visible. But it doesn’t look relevant(?)
  • Unfortunately the server is not available via the internet at the moment but I can make it available.

I’m not sure what could it be then, I’d be happy to take a quick look if you could make the CMS temporarily available over the internet.

The thing is that it does add the new event, just for some reason isn’t closing the add event form :thinking:
