Setting up new layouts doesnt work with the latest version

I’ve installed the latest Xibo version (4.4.0) on an up to date ubuntu server 24.04 LTS.
Set up with a blank database - everything went well so far but I’m getting an error message when adding a layout “unexptected error”

I’ve seen that this is a common issue, but any idea how I can fix it?
Xibo is not installed in a docker container.

You haven’t a generated private/public key, or encryption key: Xibo on a Web server | Xibo Digital Signage

This is done for you with Docker, but not if you install manually from source.
