Powerpoint not playing with Office 365

Client 4.02.1
Office 365 suite installed locally
A department wants to display a powerpoint presentation that they made. If I add the ppt to the layout, it only displays the Xibo startup logo. If I remove the ppt, it will play the layout correctly.
I’ve verified that the powerpoint file plays fine on the PC (user is licensed).
It’s been about 12 years since we’ve been asked to display a powerpoint deck, and we may have had perpetual licenses back then. It there something different with the new license style of Microsoft that would break displaying it?
