Hi,
Sorry for my english i’m a french user of XIBO.
I think I have a problem configuring network proxy at work on XIBO 1.7.8 because when i set up a local WEBPage it works fine but when i want to display an internet page like news.google.fr i have an error in xibo client “Navigation cancelled”.

My proxy configuration in IE look like :

and i’m using ‘Name Subname’ as username

I don’t know that the Player can support auto-configuration scripts. It may, it’s just not a configuration I’ve ever tried.

Please enter your proxy settings in the Serveur proxy boxes, and then your proxy credentials in the Advanced tab of the Player Options screen.

Tanks for the help i tried this on network configuration for the server and put my Username Password in advanced tab for the client but it doesnt work anymore

OK there’s some confusion here.

The screenshot you sent is of the CMS proxy settings. If your CMS needs to go through a proxy to access the internet, then you need to fill in the proxy server address and credentials there.

The proxy server address isn’t your auto-configuration URL. It’s the actual address of your proxy server. Your system administrator should be able to tell you the value you need.

Your credentials go in the proxy credentials box.

You also need to configure proxy settings on the Player. To do so, you need to configure the Player with your proxy credentials per my previous message.

Ok, just one information the client and the CMS are on the same network (LAN/WAN), If I understood correctly the documentation and your answer , Client side i don’t have to setup proxy settings , CMS side i have to set
proxy url like : http://proxyname
proxy Credentials like : my username:my password

Tell me if i do wrong

You’ll still need to enter proxy credentials for the Player if it’s going to access webpages outside your LAN.

You need to configure the proxy address on the Player and in the CMS. The name should be the actual DNS name of your proxy server, and its port

eg

proxy1.mydomain.com:3128

And the credentials in the CMS are as you say.

Hi alex where did i configure the proxy adress an proxy credentials for the player ? in the tab advance of the player option i have only Username, Password, Domain .
