Need's the player internet access to display a webpage?

Hello,

we have a local CMS and Android Player. I would like to add a region with a public webpage. The Android player’s are in a firewalled network and have only access to the CMS server. Will that work, or are the player’s accessing the webpage directly?

Player will need to reach that webpage directly I’m afraid.

Certainly you could whitelist the webpage address on 80/443 port in the firewall depending how is it accessed, and then it should be fine.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to setup a proxy in xibo or DSCS9?

CMS has proxy configuration on Settings page, as for DSCS9, as with most android devices proxy can be configured in the connection settings (ie press hold wi-fi name, modify -> advanced).

ok, but we are using Ethernet and I can’t see proxy settings there
