Hi everyone!

I’ve been working on **Xibo Modules** , a toolkit that makes developing custom Xibo modules feel more like building a regular software project.

It provides a CLI, TypeScript abstractions, automatic XML generation, Vite integration, and a structured build pipeline supporting everything from simple static widgets to more complex applications.

The project currently targets **Xibo 4.4.x** and is still under active development. I’m now working on a local development environment to preview modules without deploying them to a CMS.

Feedback and contributions are very welcome!

**🚀 Quick update: xibo-modules v1.0.0-dev.5 is available!**

The project has reached a functional development milestone.

You can now scaffold a module, build it and run it locally using the CLI:

```auto
npx xibo new my-module ./my-module
npx xibo build
npx xibo run
```

The core build pipeline is working, including TypeScript companion applications and local previews.

It’s still a development prerelease, with full XML coverage, packaging and CMS validation in progress.

**Still running Xibo 4.4.x in production? This toolkit is being built specifically for you.**
