Install Xibo player Get error

after remove 1.6.4 and install 1.7.7 error

the configuration system failed to initialize. Path: \

window 10

Is it clean 1.7.7 install or upgrade from 1.6.4?

Did you follow the instructions? http://xibo.org.uk/manual/en/release_notes_1.7.7.html

I installed the player over 1.6.4

ah player, then that should be ok, what’s your CMS version then?
It should be 1.7.7, same as your player.

Other than that CMS URL and key should be sufficient to connect your player to it.

There will be one more thing in 1.7.7, please see library location section of this post Xibo CMS Post-Installation Setup Guide

after the above is set correctly, it should work ok, if not please show us a screenshot of status window on your device (press ‘i’ on keyboard to show status window)

This error is from the player after install
I not uninstall player 1.6.4.
I install directly 1.7.7 player

So it installed correctly but when you try to run it, then you get that error?

So how is it in the end?

It would be probably best to do clean install, ie uninstall Xibo player you have now and then install 1.7.7.

The question about CMS still stands, since it might be your next problem.

CMS is working well and has been installed as required the manual.
I’m running more than 100 players .
Only two players are giving this Feedback when I open the executable.
And I think it was because I did not uninstall the previous ( 1.6.4 ) and intalled above ( 1.7.7 )

But the config Xiboclient does not open , that’s the problem .

when open this msg apears "the configuration system failed to initialize. Path: "

I’m not sure how did you install it.

Can you please just uninstall 1.6.4 / 1.7.7 so there is no Xibo player in the system.
Perhaps also delete XiboClient.config.xml in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming

Make clean install of 1.7.7 then it should work just fine.

do not work
if you can i have a teamviewer on client machine
i realy don´t know what happens

As Peter says, you need to remove all the Xibo Player configuration.

It’ll be a file called XiboClient.config.xml

Find all instances of that and remove it. You should then be able to open the Player settings and configure it.

I’m afraid we can’t TeamViewer in to your machines to investigate via the Community Site. If you want that kind of level of support it would need to be via the Project Sponsor on a paid basis (or covered by a support contract if you have one).

I exclude all XiboClient.config.xml
and it did not work .
The executable config and xiboclient.exe not open, showing that message. I
I had to format the computer to resolve the problem.
It happens that one of these computers is very far from my office location.
Still, thanks for the help .
