# How to request screenshot.jpg through api

Hi, i wonder how can i request display screenshots remotely. I checked
PUT[/display/requestscreenshot/{displayId}](https://xibo.org.uk/manual-tempel/api/#/display/displayRequestScreenshot)
and [1.8 Api introduction](https://community.xibo.org.uk/t/1-8-api-introduction/7702)
and could not understand because i am newbee…
Does this call makes cms to request screenshot for prefered display or call gives back the screenshots itself?
I just want to implement each displays to our map and import live screenshots to opening location marker popup of display on the map together with dipslay status and name.
would it be possible?

When the API is used to request a screenshot, the screenshot must be viewed using the CMS. Using the API call will not pull the screenshot directly.
As the API is used to request a screenshot rather than pull one directly for use, you will not be able to use it in the way you have described in your message.
