Hi, i added a few fonts to CMS 1.8.1.
loaded into text editor and it shows fine.
however when i log in as another user the new fonts are not there.
tried refreshing cache, and even opened in a different browser type. still no go.
i have changed permissions on a few to test with to everyone, and changed owner still nothing.

BTW 1.8.1 is AWESOME!! i’ve been with this project from WAY back and the progress made has been enormous. Thanks guys!
OK. i found that if i log in as each user it won’t show the fonts in the editor until i go into modules->fonts and rebuild the fonts.
then the fonts work for that user.
if the user does not have access to modules i had to enable modules and then modules->fonts–rebuild–save
then disable modules again.
That should not be necessary, If you assign permissions to a specific new font to a user, he should be able to use it straightaway (perhaps clear cache, but that’s all).
tried clearing cache. again i even used chrome to log in instead of Mozilla(default)…
until i logged in and rebuilt the font with the effected user it would not show up.
as soon as i rebuilt the fonts with that user, it would show up in that users text font dropdown. but ONLY for that user. once i repeated this with ALL users they all worked fine.
yes i agree it should not be necessary. not sure why it’s doing that.

i want to install a new font in cms 1.8.1 but it doesn’t work.
If i select the font from my local PC an klick on “start upload” ne Message always sounds that:
Font file is not embeddable due to its permissions
I’ve try it as Xibo-Admin, the default user.
The font is an .otf
Have you any Idea?

'Font file is not embeddable due to its permissions" means just that, it’s very likely that the author of this font specifically disabled the embedding option in this font.
We are testing it on upload in 1.8, in 1.7 you would be able to upload it, but then it wouldn’t work on the players.
In cms 1.7 it has work. so i din’t think that the author from the font has it disabled.
