# Feature request - Dataset field types

Dear Xibo Team,
I heavily use dataset in my layouts: it would be nice to have a field type document in the dataset. to include also PDF type files.

How would the “Document” field type be treated? As a file attachment?

Hi Dan, yes, actually I use the image field with an id of a pdf file (via api) to transfer the file to the totem in the required\_files.
Then I use some javascript in the template via variable substitution to show it in a webpage widget.
I will provide you an export of the layout by private message.
