Error Adding Display

Issue

Hi All, I am trying to register a new display and ma getting the error logged back in the CMS “Please enter a display group name”. This is a new site we are adding to Xibo, we can install at existing sites and its working fine. I have checked firewalls and cannot see anything getting blocked.

The player software displays the message
"Status
Client found response content type of ‘text/plain;charset=UTF-8’, but expected ‘text/xml’.
The request failed with the error message:

There has been an unknown error with XMDS, it has been logged. Please contact your administrator.

Please can you close the Xibo player on that machine and open a web browser. Are you able to log into the CMS you are trying to connect to?

Can you also make sure that:

  • You have entered the CMS URL correctly, including using HTTP or HTTPS appropriately, depending on how your CMS is set up.
  • The time, date and time zone are set correctly on your PC running the player.
  • Are you certain that you are using a version 3 CMS and player? Please can you check to make sure this is the case.
