How Xibo deals with webpages depends on which Player you’re using.
If it’s Android, then it will use the Android Webview component to show webpages. On Android 4.4 and later, that gives similar results to the way Chrome on Android would render the same page (although not 100% identical).
Youtube streaming is troublesome however. Google have made efforts to ensure videos never start playing automatically on Android devices (as they view them as mobile devices which are likely to have data caps etc) and so getting around that is tricky.
Portrait is completely possible assuming the device you’re using supports screen rotation. Most Android set top boxes don’t out of the box and may require a firmware update from the manufacturer to allow that to happen. Not all manufacturers provide these firmwares for any/all of their devices so be sure to enquire before you purchase.
Devices on our recommended hardware list have specific mention as to whether or not they support rotation and if a firmware update is required for that to happen. So for example the DSDevices box we recommend does support screen rotation out of the box and requires no firmware update. You can then run portrait screens on that straight away.
