Windows Player (on Windows and another via wine on Linux)

I made a simple layout - one text “Information” in the center and a background image.
The issue is, when this layout is attached to screen, text is shown 1 second later than the background, sometimes even with default font before switching to the one selected by me.
How can I get rid of this delay?

Please note, the duration of the layout follows the widget or elements with the longest duration. For example, an image set with duration of 10, then other elements or widget has duration set to 5, the entire duration of the layout is 10seconds.
Please let me know if you are still noticing delay how the text is showing on layout with an image as background.

Would you be able to share your layout with me and upload it here, then I will test on my laptop on a V4.2.0 CMS with XfW R404 installed to test? Also, If you can share as well the Player Status Logs and the CMS > Advanced > Logs, then filter out your display so we can only see the logs for that display?

I’ve tested your layout on a V4.2.0 CMS and XfW V4 R404 and was getting the same thing where the font will flicker for a second after the duration set for 15 seconds. This is normal behaviour for the layout since after the 15 seconds duration, it will need to reload the layout to start again, hence you are seeing it flicker after the duration is complete.
We recommend that you put a longer duration for the layout to minimize seeing the reloading (flicker for 1 second) of the layout. Please note the duration of the entire layout is based on the widget with the longest duration. For example, if an image in the layout has 5 seconds duration and your text has 10 seconds duration, the layout duration will follow the text duration of 10 seconds since it has the longest duration.

That is not really helping. If such a simple layout gives this delay then one with much more text/widgets how long would take? Why is there no buffering?
Update.
At the moment gapless playback isn’t supported on Xibo for Windows players, unfortuantely. The only workaround at the moment for you not to see the layout reloading (1 second flicker), is to set the duration of the layout longer.
I have logged a Feature Request to have a support for gapless playback and our developer’s will review this for consideration which might be included in future releases of the XfW player.
You said it is not supported on Xibo for Windows. Does that mean other players have this function?

At the moment, Gapless Playback is only in XfLG (R407 onwards) and XfA (R207 onwards) at the moment. I’ve managed to test your layout with a duration of 15 seconds in XfA V4 R406 player and it did continuously showed (without the flicker behavior when reloading the layout).

You know, this layout is just a test. Final version is supposed to include about 45 slides.
About 40 of them will be images and the rest is supposed to be editable so they need to be created by layout creator.
