default name of “display” shows up. I tried manually editing the cmsSettings.XML file in the snap/xibo-player/current folder but when I launch Xibo player it overwrites that file back to the default “display” display name.
I also see that in the display options advanced area under neath the proxy settings there appears to be a display name option but I do not see a change to the reflected in the CMS.

Thank you for your message. Have you tried changing the Display name of the Xibo for Linux player in your CMS after you have connected it? You should be able to rename it by going to the Displays option in your CMS, then click the button at the end of the Display and choose Edit. You will see the entry under the General tab named Display. You can change the name and save to confirm. The Display will then receive the change the next time it contacts and collects from your CMS.

I honestly didn’t know that was an option LOL. The windows player adopted the windows computer’s network name so I thought it was a local setting applied on the device. I was able to change it in the interface just fine thanks!
